At Alpha Timing, we are on a mission to revolutionise how motorsport events, championships, clubs, and karting centres are managed and delivered.

Our Club Management software is trusted by thousands of organisers and officials and used by tens of thousands of competitors each year. Our suite of tools powers nearly every aspect of race events, including:

  • Online event management
  • Timing and live results distribution
  • Equipment scanning and incident management
  • Live streaming and race data insights

Additionally, our Rental Karting Software is widely used by karting centres across the UK and North America, helping venues streamline bookings and manage customer flow with ease.

The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing development team. This is a full-time remote position where you will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our software products. You’ll be working with React, TypeScript, and C#, building scalable, high-performance applications.

You will have the opportunity to work in an innovative motorsport tech environment and grow alongside our company as we expand rapidly into North America and beyond.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Developing and maintaining web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Building and optimising APIs and MVC applications in C# and .NET
  • Ensuring software reliability through unit and integration testing
  • Collaborating with a remote team in a fast-paced, supportive environment
  • Contributing to product architecture and innovation
What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of experience developing web applications with React and TypeScript
  • 2+ years of experience building APIs and MVC apps with C# (.NET 6+)
  • Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • A solid understanding of unit and integration testing
  • Ability to thrive in a remote team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Alpha Timing was founded in 2013 by Will Alderson and Will Tew.

Will Tew

Prior to Alpha, Will setup the British Universities Karting Championship and British Schools Karting Championship to open up motorsport to young people on a budget.

When all of the timing software on the market is not flexible enough what do you do? You create your own of course! That's what Will does, he loves making flexible software.
Nick Sullivan
DESIGN & MARKETING
Nick was born with a pencil in his hand and brings decades of design skills to Alpha. In his free time he likes to make drum and bass music and travel.
Enver Meyer
SALES
Enver has more than a decade's worth of experience running go-karting venues in the UK and brings all of that knowledge to Alpha to help us make the best software for the UK leisure industry.
Mason Thomas
SALES
Mason is our UK club racing sales representative with many years of competition racing experience. When he's not working at a motorsport event, he will likely be on his bike cycling for many kilometres.
Jono Holland
SUPPORT
Jono brings a wealth of teaching experience to his role as Alpha's chief of support having had a varied career in local government, the police and more recently as a driving instructor. In his free time he enjoys attending Motorsport events at his local clubs in East Anglia.
Rachael Furn Bullard
HEAD OF CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Rachael has been lapscoring since she could hold a pen and has also held an FIA Timing Superlicence. Rachael also brings over a decade of creating business critical software to Alpha. In her spare time she enjoys city breaks and Crossfit.
Rick Selby
Developer
Rick has been developing software for over 20 years, always with a focus on making people's lives easier. He raced in the inaugural BUKC championship and has kept a keen interest in motorsport ever since.
